How is pigment treated here?

Read the pigment, then choose the laser.

Pigment treatment at Gounsesang begins with diagnosis, because melasma, dermal pigment (such as Hori's nevus) and sun-induced spots respond to different wavelengths and energies. Treating them the same way is what causes rebound and worsening, especially with melasma. Our directors read the pigment type and depth with 3D imaging, then choose toning, a Q-switched or pico laser, or a combined plan. Melasma is managed gently over a series rather than forced in one course, and darker skin uses careful settings to avoid post-inflammatory pigmentation.

Pigment questions

Frequently asked questions

How many sessions does melasma need?
Melasma is managed long-term, usually with gentle toning every 1–2 weeks over a series, plus home care. It is controlled rather than cured in one course.
Can you remove freckles and age spots permanently?
Most discrete spots clear in 1–3 targeted sessions, though sun exposure can bring new ones, so protection matters.
What is dermal pigment and why is it harder?
Dermal pigment such as Hori's nevus sits deeper in the skin and needs specific wavelengths and more sessions than surface spots.
Is pigment laser safe for darker skin?
Yes, with lower energy and longer intervals. A board-certified director sets parameters to avoid pigment changes.
Will the pigment come back?
Sun-induced pigment can recur without protection; melasma fluctuates with hormones and sun. Maintenance and sunscreen keep results stable.
Do you offer English consultations for pigment?
Yes. Send close-up photos in natural light and a director will recommend a plan in English.
